The East Wing Redevelopment was carried out in 1998 with JODA as project managers and structural / services / fire engineers. The works included structural alterations, fire separation, internal strip out, conversion to hospital treatment areas and wards. Amongst the new services provided are angiography, ICU, endoscopy, nuclear medicine and MRI.
In 2004/2005 the hospital undertook a further redevelopment and extension to provide a new kitchen, with a restaurant overhead, a new operating theatre and a new CSSD.
Both of these projects involved working around a live hospital. Both have been completed on time and under budget
