THE FIRE STATION PHASE - 1

The fire station and new car park were completed in 2003 and consisted of a two bay Fire Station constructed on two levels using load bearing masonry, precast concrete floors and a steel cladded roof.  A structural steel training tower was constructed with a circular hollow section and birds nest.

 
THE COURTHOUSE PHASE - 2

Phase 2 of the project consists of new civic offices for Cork Co. Co. and new offices for the Courts Service which includes refurbishment of the existing courthouse rooms and chambers and commenced on site in the third quarter of 2005.
The three storey Civic Offices Phase 2 Development is an infill construction of precast concrete floor construction on load bearing masonry and in-situ reinforced concrete beam and column construction.

A stepped back 2nd floor area is formed by a lightly cladded structural steel frame carried by the precast concrete floor units.The adjoining Courts Service building to the south elevation of the existing courthouse is of similar construction to the Civic Offices.
