Churchfield Pool & Leisure Centre
contains a 25m leisure pool, a learner and kiddies pool with play feature,
sauna and steam rooms & relaxation area, a flume and viewing gallery.
The adjoining ground floor areas include a changing village, plant
rooms and reception area. The first floor has a state of the art gym,
aerobics room, treatment rooms and offices. On the roof over the aerobics/office
is a plant room.
The main pool hall structure consists
of in.situ concrete columns with steel trusses over the 25m pool and
steel beams over the learner/kiddies pool, both with a perferated metal
liner sheet and standing seem roof. The adjoing filtration/gym and changing/aerobics
structures consist of in.situ concrete columns, the first floors are
in.situ beams and slabs as well as the roofs. The plantroom over the
aerobics is made up from a steel structure supported on the flat concrete
roof with cladded walls and roof.
Mechanical
services included ventilation, air-conditioning, water services, soils
and waste, pool water hydraulics and treatment, services to flume and
water feature. This project was independently assessed and grant aided
by Energy Ireland for energy efficiency methods.
Electrical
services comprised of lighting, small power, fire alarm, intruder alarm
& CCTV, voice evacuation systems, lightning protection, power factor
correction, access control and lift installation
