In 1993 the Office of Public Works decided to convert the former Mode School on Anglesea Street, Cork to the Cork District Courthouse.
This listed building, facing City Hall, had suffered from subsidence which had resulted in severe structural deficiencies.  JODA worked with the OPW architects in the building upgrade and refurbishment, which included foundation underpinning.
