QUALITY CONTROL

JODA prides itself on careful design. Thus, co-ordination of services with structure, the avoidance of design errors and the maintenance of tight controls is a particular policy that is paramount in the office. In the early 1990’s the practice set down quality control procedures, and these are reviewed and updated regularly. A copy of the Office Quality Control System, with its 23 procedures, is available for examination. The system is not subjected to external auditing, but otherwise is to the ISO 9001 standard.

HEALTH & SAFETY

JODA have a Company health and Safety Plan in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 1989. The JODA Health & Safety Statement is as follows: “JODA staff shall act in a manner that is in accordance with the Health and Safety and Welfare at Work Act 1989. In the Office, competent staff will be provided to work in a safe and suitable environment. All equipment and appliances used in the office will be maintained to allow a safe system of working. On site all JODA staff will comply with the Health and Safety and Welfare at work (construction) regulations 2005 in particular, wearing suitable protection clothing and operating under the direction of the Health and Safety Construction Supervisor.”

DESIGNING FOR SAFETY IN CONSTRUCTION

JODA staff have attended seminars on designing for safety in construction. For every project JODA are involved in as designers a Design Risk Assessment is carried out which is presented to the Project Supervisor Design Stage.

SAFETY AUDIT

JODA welcome any Third Party Safety Audits to be carried out on Drawings and Specifications produced by the Company.

TRAINING

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an important matter in the practice. All staff are encouraged to maintain an active CPD, including seminars, trade exhibitions and courses of study
